
SPRING CONCERT AT THE RANCHO with ELISABETH
WALDO FOR NEW CD RELEASE "MUSIC FOR THE CITY OF ANGELS" SUNDAY, MAY
6th, 2001
Northridge --- The MultiCultural Music and Art Foundation of
Northridge (MCMAFN) will be hosting a Spring Concert to preview the wonderful
new CD: "Music for the City of Angels," created by Elisabeth Waldo; violinist,
composer and ethnomusicologist, and her Southwinds Ensembles.
Explore the musical mystique and heritage of the Golden State's
immigrant experience, with new music compositions inspired by the
Pre-Colombian, Mexican, Native American, Russian and Chinese traditional
communities.
The Concert will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 6th at the
New Mission Theater at the "Rancho", located at the intersection of Nordhoff
Street and Wilbur Avenue in Northridge, four miles West of the 405 and the
Nordhoff exit.
The event is open to the public, but advance reservations are
required. Seating is limited, so please call (818) 349-3431 for reservations.
Tax -deductable donations to the foundation are $15 per adult and $10 for
students.
